Sample code

RAMPUPSTARTDATE = 20070101

Light Bulb

This tells Mechanica to set up a simulated (not a real) trading account starting on the specified past date then walk the account forward to the present.  Use this feature to determine how closely your actual trading account is tracking with a historical run made under the same circumstances.  Put a different way, this lets you play the following 'what-if' game: "Had I set up a real trading account in Mechanica and actually started trading it on the specified past date, where should my account stand today and what would my portfolio summary report be today?".

This process is used to emulate OM operations. It runs a simulation up to RAMPUPSTARTDATE. When it reaches RAMPUPSTARTDATE it ratios everything to STARTUPCASH (like OM) and proceeds from there to the end of the data.

ThumbTack white

Be sure to put RAMPUPSTARTDATE near the top of your batch.sig file (before the first .sig file is called).
